New lifts at Block A to E

Three new lifts have become operational in Blocks B1, D1 and E to improve accessibility, following Blocks A, B3 and D3.  For promoting safety and facilitating barrier-free access, the lifts have a number of new features including the use of touchless technology, the installation of handrails and braille lift buttons and trilingual announcements for the visually impaired.

Improvement of Teaching Venues at B4

To promote collaborative learning environments, the lecture theatres B4-LP-04 and B4-LP-06 have been renovated, after the six lecture theatres in Block D.  Electrical sockets and USB ports have been installed on the bench for every seat so that users can use electronic devices for learning and note-taking.

Following the changing facilities on LP/F of the Amenities and Sports Complex (Block E), the changing facilities for the outdoor swimming pool on P/F has been renovated to provide a hygiene and user-friendly facilities.

Newly Renovated Toilets and Pantries from Block A to E

More than 100 toilets and 10 pantries in Blocks A to E have been refurbished in phases over the past few years.  More touchless sanitary fittings and improved mechanical ventilation system have been installed to enhance hygiene conditions.

Planned / On-going Projects

Improvement of Teaching Venues at B2 to B4

7 numbers of classrooms at B2 to B4 LP floor will be renovated in phases. The first phase of construction works (Room D2-LP-14, 20 and 21) have been commenced in June 2024 for completion tentatively in end 2024. All phases of construction works are scheduled for completion tentatively in Q4 2025.

Improvement of Lecture Theatre C-LP-11

Renovation works of C-LP-11, which is the largest theatre on Tai Po Campus, will be carried out tentatively from end 2024 to mid-2025.

Improvement Works of Chan Shiu-chow Performing Studio D2-LP-05

Renovation works of D2-LP-05, which is one of the major theatre with stage on Tai Po Campus, will be carried out tentatively in mid 2025.

New Academic Building in Tai Po Campus

New Academic Building in Tai Po Campus, which is the first ever subvented capital works project implemented since the establishment of the campus, was approved by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council on 15 July 2022 with the Approved Project Estimate at $651.2 million in money-of-the-day (MOD) prices. The main works of the project subsequently commenced on 29 August 2022 for completion tentatively in Q3 2025.

Improvement works of Lecture Theatres (D1-LP-02 to 04)

Renovation of D1-LP-02 and D1-LP-03 were completed in September 2023 and December 2023 respectively. The works for D1-LP-04 has been commenced in January 2024 for completion tentatively in mid-2024.

Improvement of Lift Systems at Hostels

The aging lifts covering Hall A to Hall C will be replaced in phases from 2023 to 2025. The third phase has been completed on 23 Oct 2024. The last phase has been commenced in early of Nov 2024 and will be completed tentatively in early of March 2025.

Tseung Kwan O Study Centre Improvement Works

5 nos. of function rooms at TKOSC will be renovated in phases, the first phase of construction works (Room 205 and G05) will be commenced in July 2024 for completion tentatively in December 2024. All phases of construction works are scheduled for completion by Q4 2025.

Improvement of Toilets and Resurfacing of Basketball Court at Tseung Kwan O Study Centre

The toilet facilities will be upgraded in phases from 2025 to 2026 with touchless features incorporated for hygienic consideration and other water saving sanitary fittings provided. The outdoor basketball court will also be renovated tentatively in end 2025.
