Page 11 - Leadership Platform
P. 11

Some examples of the elements that comprise a leader’s platform can be:

                  >   their personal educational philosophy;

                  > their leadership philosophy and understanding about strategic action.

               These encapsulate values and vision, and describe, for example, their beliefs
               about what constitutes:

                  >   effective teaching and learning;
                  >   staff engagement in decision making;
                  >   professional learning.

               Putting together a clear and explicit leadership platform DOES NOT commit you
               to it forever — but it makes a clear statement that at this point in time it is your
               position. You know that it could change at any time (sort of like what we have
               come to expect from politicians really).

               During Links, we will ask you to write a leadership platform.

                                >  Starting point

                                >  Hub

                                >  Point of reference
