these are useful to Principal Coaches (Holmes, 2003). Coaching:
Focuses on learning.
Has a results orientation.
Focuses on the development of skills, competencies and attitude.
In addition, an effective coach was found to:
Coach from a position of professional strength.
Be well aware of themselves as leaders.
Hold an appreciation of their colleagues’ strengths, weaknesses
and learning needs.
