Copyright
Copyright is a form of intellectual property in which the legal rights
associated with creative effort, commercial reputation and goodwill is
protected. Copyright is an automatic right in the sense that there is no
need to register it to obtain protection under the law.
Characteristics of Copyright
Copyright generally vests in the person who created the work, and this is
normally the first owner of the copyright. A general exception exists
when a work is created by an employee in the course of employment in

which case the employer is the owner of the copyright .
An owner of copyright has exclusive rights to:
● Make a copy of the work
● Issue copies
● Broadcast the work
● Give public performances of the work
● Make adaptations
● Translate the work
