The Principal’ Role in Building School as a Learning Organization –

Study in Vietnamese Context

Leadership has been identified as one of the most important factor that influence the
reculturing school as a learning organization. The roles of the principal in building learning
organization from the literature can be summarized as: 1) creating and fostering a learning
environment; 2) creating and managing new knowledge; 3) leading learning. A survey has
been conducted involving around 500 teachers and principals from primary to upper
secondary school in order to explain the relation between the roles of principal in building
learning organization and the dimensions of learning school in Vietnamese context.
