Strategic planning in action

            Strategic planning in action

You should now have a basic idea of how to identify the issues to address in planning and
the importance of developing a distinctive advantage. Now we will discuss how to conduct
strategic planning. A strategic plan needs to address the project needs, the feasibility of the plan,

            and the expected outcome.

            Project needs

The strategic plan needs to address the school needs and development. It must match
the education policies and education trends. It also needs to address the goals and objectives using
the SMART criteria and it needs to state the innovative elements and how it impacts the school.

            Feasibility
The strategic plan needs to depict the design of the project, including a theoretical framework
and practical design. As an entrepreneurial leader, he/she should formulate a strategic plan.
It needs to outline how the project facilitates teacher enhancement and collaboration. It also

needs to include a budget plan and relevant commitments.

            Expected project outcome
The strategic plan needs to outline how the project will be evaluated for future improvement and

the key performance indexes (KPIs). It also needs to figure out the sustainability of the project,
i.e. the continuity of the project without further funding. It must elaborate on the findings, or how
the project’s produced materials are disseminated to other schools or the community.
