Witness the charms of a financial hub through Financial Education immersion: MA(PFE) field visit
The Master of Arts in Personal Financial Education Programme (MA(PFE)) organized a series of engaging field trips in the autumn of 2024, helping students gain deeper insights into Hong Kong's financial and commercial development. The students visited the IFEC Financial Education Hub, The Mills in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Information Centre and some financial landscapes in Central.
At the IFEC Financial Education Hub, students participated in various interactive games to learn about some principles of personal investment, the attributes of some major financial products and services, and the operation of some common financial instruments. Through these digital experiential games, the students learned the importance of financial literacy enhancement. This experience also sparked reflections on their future career paths as a financial educator or financial planner.
While wandering through Central and observing some financial landmarks, such as the Hang Seng Bank Headquarters Building and Exchange Square, the students immersed themselves in the historic evolution of commerce and finance in Hong Kong. They also participated in an in-depth visit to the HKMA Information Centre, perceiving an overview of the financial regulatory environment in Hong Kong, the roles of HKMA in Hong Kong’s financial settings, Hong Kong’s evolvement in currency and banking, etc.
These field trips enriched the students' outside-classroom learning experience, and provided a platform for them to feel the charm of Hong Kong as an international financial hub.
