Professor Anthony Cheung Scholarship and Mr Clement Woo, MH, Scholarship launched to recognize outstanding students in public policy
The Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) proudly announces the launch of the Professor Anthony Cheung Scholarship to recognize outstanding students in public policy, public management, and international relations. As the flagship scholarship scheme named after a veteran public sector leader and a distinguished scholar with worldwide reputation, the Professor Anthony Cheung Scholarship will be conferred to outstanding students from both master and bachelor degree programmes of the APS Department. Professor Anthony B.L. Cheung is currently the Research Chair Professor of Public Administration with the APS Department. As a distinguished expert, he served as the President of the Asian Association for Public Administration which also dedicated a prestigious award named after him to honour his eminent contribution to the field. Prof Cheung was the Secretary for Transport and Housing of the Hong Kong SAR Government from 2012 to 2017, after his service as the President of the then Hong Kong Institute of Education. He also held numerous other important positions in public and community service in Hong Kong.
Recently, the APS Department also launched the Mr Clement Woo, MH, Scholarship to encourage outstanding local as well as mainland students who are enrolled in the Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) programme. This scholarship scheme was made possible by the generous donation of Mr Clement Woo, MH, an enthusiastic community leader of the Tai Po District, in which the EdUHK is located.
