EdUHK team shines in Hong Kong-wide Public Policy Case Competition
A team of students from the Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) Programme of the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) won the second runner-up in the Second Inter-University Public Policy Case Competition held by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in April 2021. Nearly 60 teams from all universities in Hong Kong participated in this high-profile competition.
In the competition, participants were required to rigorously analyse real-life public policy issues in Hong Kong and provide innovative policy solutions. The preliminary and semi-final rounds of the competition this year were focused on technological innovation and research and development (R&D) policies in Hong Kong. Land and housing policies were the key focus in the final round. Consisting of Butakhieo Nantapong, LENG Ling, Pongsira Kongthaewtong, and GAO Shan, Team Brain Interceptors stood out from three rounds of fierce competition and was awarded the second runner up in the final round, only second to a team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and another team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The EdUHK representatives were the only team consisting wholly of mainland and international students in the final.
