APS member Dr Isabella Ng and her team awarded a 3.5 million Euros grant by Horizon Europe
Led by Dr. Asuncion Fresnoza-Flot of the Université libre de Bruxelles of Belgium, the team responded to the Call of EU Horizon (Call : HORIZON-CL2-2022-TRANSFORMATIONS-01 (A sustainable future for Europe) Topic: HORIZON-CL2-2022-TRANSFORMATIONS-01-04 Type of Action: HORIZON-RIA), and awarded a three-year grant to conduct a transnational research on migration. The team have been awarded a grant totaled more than 3.5 million Euros.
As one of the Principal investigators and the representative of China (Hong Kong), Dr Isabella Ng will work with the consortium on the project.
The consortium for the newly awarded Horizon Europe project consists of a total of 13 members from 11 selective European and Asian countries. The 11 countries include Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, China (Hong Kong) and Japan ,
Entitled Decision making of aspiring (re)migrants to and within the EU: the case of labour market-leading migrations from Asia (AspirE), the project examines the decision-making process of aspiring (re)migrants from selected Southeast and East Asian countries (China (Hong Kong), Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) to and within selected EU member countries (Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Finland).
The results of this project will provide concrete information as to how individuals’ migration decisions change over time and on the specific stage at which mobility policies are more likely to play a role in shaping migration outcomes, which will enhance EU migration policies.
The project receives an excellent review of 14/15 and the project will begin in January 2023.
