The first overseas study trip after the pandemic: GES students’ visit to Seoul

Following the lifting of travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our first overseas study trip-- suspended for three years-- was organized successfully in December 2022. In this 7-day trip, 20 students from the BSocSc in Global and Environmental Studies programme explored major issues related to social, economic, political, cultural, environmental and urban development of Korean society, and have put their research skills into practice as they learned up-close during the field visits to important sites such as Cheonggyecheon, Incheon landfill site, water purification facilities, the War Memorial and the Demilitarized Zone. Such a fruitful trip for students!
