Policy Dialogue Series | Crisis Management: Lessons from the COVID-19 Crises
Since the 2018-19 academic year, the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS), The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and the Division of Public Policy (PPOL), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), have co-organised an annual Policy Dialogue Series featuring Professor Anthony Cheung (張炳良教授), Research Chair Professor of Public Administration and former Secretary for Transport and Housing (2012-17), to explore some contemporary public policy challenges facing Hong Kong, such as:
- One Country, Two Systems
- Housing and transport policies
- Crisis Management
About the speakers
Professor Anthony Cheung is currently the Research Chair Professor of Public Administration with the Department of Asian and Policy Studies at EdUHK. From 2008 to 2012, Professor Cheung was President of The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd), the predecessor of EdUHK. From 2012 to 2017, he was Secretary for Transport and Housing and Chairman of the Housing Authority. He is also Visiting Professor at the Institute for Public Policy, HKUST.
Professor James Wong specialises in political science and political philosophy. In 2014, he joined the HKUST. Prof Wong's research revolves around democracy and citizen participation, politics of science, environment and sustainability, and political philosophy and public policy. He is now focusing on environmental and democracy movements, science and citizen participation, and theories of deliberative democracy.
