Sustainable Tourism
INTRODUCTION
The Sustainable Tourism Minor will develop students an in-depth understanding about delivering ecotourism in real-life practices. Fieldtrips will be arranged in the Greater Bay Area and other Asian regions. The Minor will equip the students with knowledge and perspectives about the linkage between tourism and social mobility, and about opportunities and challenges of tourism on quality of life.
Upon the completion of the Minor, students will be able to:
a. analyse the social, cultural, environmental and economic impacts of tourism in the age of globalisation; and
b. explain the linkage between tourism, sustainable development and quality of life with reference to empirical examples.
