Business Career Development (BCD)
INTRODUCTION
This minor is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of the critical issues in business career development, thus enhancing their preparedness for career options in both business and/or non-business sectors. It introduces the essential business and management concepts and examines the evolving local business environment from political, social, legal and economic perspectives. It also discusses critically the organizational, managerial and cultural challenges as well as legal and ethical concerns in the business settings.
After completing the Business Career Development minor, students should be able to:
- Master the fundamental concepts of business communication and culture at workplace;
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the evolving business environment in Hong Kong and its impacts on societal and political aspects;
- Appreciate the importance of entrepreneurship in business development and innovations;
- Analyze and evaluate critically the managerial and organizational challenges in the contemporary business world; and
- Develop a set of personal values and guiding principles based on strong business work ethics and moral conduct.
