Dr HUANG Zhiran

Dr Zhiran Huang is a research assistant professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He received his PhD from the Department of Geography at The University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining EdUHK, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, supported by the Postdoc Matching Fund Scheme. As a transport geographer, Dr Huang’s research interests focus on sustainable (transportation) development, travel behaviours, urban form, work-from-home, and transport equity. His work has been published in prestigious journals including Sustainable Cities and Society, Cities, Travel Behaviour and Society, and Journal of Transport Geography.
Dr Huang’s academic contributions have been well-recognised. His paper, ‘Travel behaviour changes under Work-from-home (WFH) arrangements during COVID-19’, was recognised as an ESI Highly Cited Paper in 2023. Additionally, he has been invited to review articles from more than 10 international academic journals.
