It gives me great pleasure to present to you the Strategic Plan 2025-2031 of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), which is a comprehensive blueprint for charting the development of the University. As we embark on this new chapter, our focus is on the theme of “Education Futures”, positioning us to navigate the complexities of the next decade.
Upon the official University titling in 2016, EdUHK launched its 10-year Strategic Plan with “Education-plus” as the approach for its development from 2016 to 2025. In a time of shifting landscapes in technologies, societal needs, and educational methodologies, we recognise the importance of revisiting our foundational strengths and emerging fields within education. As a leading university in the Asia-Pacific region with a focus on research, development and innovation in the field of education, this Strategic Plan reaffirms the University's commitment to redefining the role of educators and the delivery of education in this dynamic environment, focusing our contribution to talent development for the future.
We firmly believe that education is the cornerstone for creating knowledge, building understanding, and transforming lives and societies. While we remain steadfast in our core mission of leading educational innovation and fostering the development of teaching, teacher education and relevant disciplines for future talent development, we aim to amplify our impact on relevant disciplines locally, nationally, regionally, and internationally. We are committed to nurturing future-ready educators and professional talents who are dedicated to making a difference for the future, helping to improve the world for the long term.
This Strategic Plan is the result of collaborative efforts from our Council Members, academic and administrative colleagues, and various stakeholders. Their innovative ideas and invaluable contributions have set a solid foundation for EdUHK's growth. I am confident that together, we will embrace the exciting opportunities that lie ahead and bring the University to new heights.
