Dr Doris Au, the Principal explained
that the school had been operating as a government-subsidised
school since September 2002. It has 300 students enrolled
in 10 classes, ranging from primary one to four, she reported.
"Through the close partnership
of teachers, parents and students, we see the emergence of
a culture that encourages the optimisation of children's potential
through the shared joy of learning and teaching," Dr
Au said.
The school building was awarded the Hong Kong Institute of
Architects Medal of the Year 2002 - Community Buildings Category
for integrating aesthetics with functionality, making the
school a dream place to learn.
Describing the School as "a place where children are
encouraged to learn, grow and develop happily and creatively",
Mrs Angela W Y Cheung Wong, JP, Chairman of Executive Committee
of HKIEd Schools Limited, is confident that the School will
continue to serve as a platform to demonstrate best practices
in innovative and quality primary education.
Since its establishment, the School has been supporting the
Institute through providing opportunities for research, teaching
practice and lesson observations. At the same time, HKIEd
faculty members have been rendering their expertise to the
School.
"We look forward to developing closer partnership with
the School to improve the quality of schooling in Hong Kong,"
said Prof Paul Morris, HKIEd President.
