The Winsor Education
Foundation donated HK$1.5 million to support the Department
of Chinese, School of Languages in Education for the establishment
of a "CKC Centre for Development of Information Technology
for Chinese Language Teaching" on 15 December 2003. The
project aims to integrate information technology in language
applications in order to create an effective learning environment
for future teachers. The "CKC" Chinese input method
and word processing skills, if adopted by future primary and
secondary school teachers, will benefit new generations in strengthening
Chinese language computer applications. This was one of the
major donations of 2003 and a welcome Christmas and New Year
gift for HKIEd. |
Mr Chow Wen-hsien, Chairman and Mr Chow Chung-kai, Director
of Winsor Education Foundation present a cheque to Professor
Bernard Luk, Acting President and Professor Chan Wing- ming,
Dean of the School of Languages in Education.
