The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) announced the awardee list of the President’s Commendation Scheme today (23 February) to commend students on their outstanding achievements beyond academic studies in the past year.
The Scheme recognises students who have achieved outstanding performance in five specific non-academic areas: Arts and Culture, Community Services, Leadership, Sports, and Innovation, Science and Technology.
Eleven students were awarded the President’s Commendation or President’s Appreciation this year. Six of the awardees are students from the Department of Health and Physical Education. Three of the them were awarded the President's Commendation, the highest level of recognition in the Scheme, for their distinguished performance in the area of Leadership and Sports.

EdUHK President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung congratulated the awardees on their achievements and praised their commitment to the pursuit of excellence in different areas. He said, “The University places great importance on students’ whole-person development and encourages them to broaden their horizons through formal and non-formal learning. We hope they can contribute to society with their strengths and positivity.”
The President’s Commendation Scheme Award is open to all full-time students enrolled at EdUHK. Since its inception in 2010, over 110 students and groups have been awarded. In view of the pandemic, the award ceremony of The President’s Commendation Scheme has been postponed until further notice. Details will be announced in due course.
