求之於勢,不責於人


「求之於勢,不責於人」是我昔日教練的足球哲學,這句座右銘陪伴我度過十八年體育教學生涯。感恩及喜悅能與學生同行,陪伴他們走過人生中最燦爛的青葱歲月,將不可能的體育學習路段變成有可能,扶助學生成就未來,同時豐富我的二次人生。
 
回顧執起教鞭的日子,與學生一起經歷不少的賽事,亞洲賽、全國賽、地區賽、學界賽,甚至校內社際班際比賽,每場賽事我們都全力以赴,做到最好,但求無憾。每一次勝負都滋潤我們的心靈,充實我們的人生。更感恩與學生一同經歷每一堂精采而愉快的體育課堂,更有幸向不同國家及本地校長和老師展示「我們的體育課」,感受我們上體育課的樂趣,體會體育教學的魔法。
 
今年有幸獲邀回到母校(香港教育大學)協助一群熱血的體育系女將學習足球,挑戰大專賽事。論知識、技術是初學者,但過程中,她們的學習態度卻令我感動。虛心學習、細心聆聽、默默付出,在綠茵場上留下不少血、汗與淚水,為的不是一個大專冠軍,而是希望增加體育知識、技能和學養,為日後的教學工作做好準備。
 
近年,多了機會接觸體育同工,常常討論如何在體育學習領域精益求精。對於此題目,我有以下見解:一、體育願景:要有清晰的體育願景培育孩子學習體育;二、裝備自強:正如上一段教大女足一樣,持續進修,深化體育知識、技能與學養,使學生得益;三、審時度勢:掌握學校校情,了解學生需要,建立具校本特色的體育課程;四、適切策略:制定適合學生的教學策略,使學生在學習體育過程中找到樂趣;五、體育魅力:在賽場上多展示體育人的魅力,以身教感染學生。
 
要實踐以上五點,必須要有堅實的體育信念。出自《孫子兵法》的「求之於勢,不責於人」便是我的體育教學信念,其出發點並不是以成功為唯一目標,而是以失敗為前提。認輸不是每個人都能做到,能認輸方能認識到自己的不足;積累寶貴經驗,便能伺機而動。簡單來說:學生在學習體育經歷中多作反思,領悟人生哲理,是二十一世紀學生需要具備的元素。
 
香港有很多出色的體育人,一直默默耕耘,堅持信念教育下一代。最後套用電影《點五步》一句對白:「校長無講過要你哋贏,但有講過叫你哋唔好放棄。」香港體育人,共勉之。

Andy’s primary research interest lies on the motor learning and impact of physical activity on psychological, cognitive and physical well-being in children with autism spectrum disorder.  He is also interested in motor development and the effect of free-play on overall quality of life in typically developing children. He recently initiates a new research project on the investigation of free-play participation among school-aged children. His research goal is to propose a lighthouse parenting strategy as a reasonable approach to build success among children.
