The Graduate School organised the workshop for supervisors and doctoral students on 23 November 2022. Around 33 participants were joining in the workshop (29 participants from ZOOM online and 4 in person). Dr Susan Carter from the University of Auckland shared the good practice in supervision as teaching and supervision as the community of practice work and some research findings on supervision at the University of Auckland. During the workshop, participants also shared their experiences as a supervisor or a supervisee, for example, “anything your supervisor did that was awful? anything your supervisor did that was great?” Dr Carter had an interactive discussion on the factors that might disrupt a good supervisory relationship and the supervision as a social relationship.
