[10 April] GS Drawing Workshop
Lines and dots became images in a fun and relaxing Graduate School workshop led by Lecturer, Ms Passy Deng on April 10th. The session began with a novel icebreaker requiring participants to interview a stranger and draw their responses.
Ms Deng then introduced the six elements of art: line, shape, form, space, colour, and texture. After some practice, participants sketched to different genres of music with their eyes closed. As the melodies filled the room, the students translated their sensory experiences and feelings onto paper, resulting in a captivating collection of artwork.
The workshop also fostered a sense of collaboration and creativity during the students' sharing session. Excitement and appreciation filled the studio as participants enthusiastically showcased their drawings, embracing the opportunity to exchange ideas and perspectives with each other.
The event’s success has left everyone eagerly anticipating the next drawing workshop. Whether an experienced artist or a novice, the workshop provided a welcoming space to explore one’s creativity and connect with others.
The Graduate School greatly appreciates Ms Deng’s hard work and passion for art education. The GS thanks the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts for supporting this event.
We hope to see you at the next workshop!
