Dear Staff and Students,

Riding on the smooth operation of the Vehicle Licence Plate Recognition System adopted at the covered carpark at Cho Kwai Chee Foundation Building since December 2023, it is deemed mature to extend this system to the Main Entrance of the University for the holders of registered parking permit*  (i.e. registered staff, registered in-service & part-time students and registered contractors) to take effect from 5 April 2025 (Saturday). 

As this system technically needs some time to activate after reading the valid licence number, all drivers are therefore reminded to keep a Proper Distance from the vehicle ahead before passing through the gate at the Main Entrance. 

Yet, for the holders of registered parking permit, the system will function as follows:

1.     Only the vehicle number(s) indicated in the latest application of the valid parking permit would be recognized by the system.

2.     A maximum of TWO vehicle numbers is allowed for each staff parking permit whilst ONLY ONE vehicle is permitted to enter the campus and park in the car park at the same time.

3.     The system is not applicable to Motor Cycle and Motor Tricycle.

For the staff, students and other eligible campus users (i.e. their vehicles are not recognised by the system or he/she enters the campus when travelling by taxi or other private vehicle), they are still required to tap their EdU cards at the Main Entrance as part of security identification process (including Motor Cyclists).  All other vehicles which cannot be recognized by the system are required to stop in front of the gate barrier for security purpose as usual.

各位同事及同學：

為進一步配合已於2023年12月在曹貴子基金會大樓（A座）停車場所採用的自動車牌識別系統之擴大使用，己持有有效泊車許可證人士(即已登記職員、已登記在職及兼職學生和已登記承辦商)可於2025年4月5日起使用自動車牌識別系統進出校園主車路。

當系統啟用並讀取到有效的車牌號碼，閘杆將自動開啟。駕駛者請跟前面車輛保持適當距離，以確保在通過閘杆前，系統能準確辨別車牌號碼。 

惟已持有有效泊車許可證人士，使用自動車牌識別系統時需注意以下事項：

1.     系統只可讀取已完成在有效泊車許可證申請時所提供登記的最新車牌號碼。

2.     每個職員泊車許可證只可登記最多2個車牌號碼；惟同一時間只准許其中1部車輛進入校園及停泊於停車場。

3.     系統不適用於電單車及機動三輪車。

請注意 - 其他職員、學生或合資格校園使用者(即其車輛未能通過自動車牌識別系統、或乘搭的士/其他私人車輛進入校園)，仍需按現行校園保安措施，在校園主車路進行”教大通 (EdU Card)”拍卡認證程序(包括所有電單車使用者)。所有其他未能通過自動車牌識別系統的車輛，均需按現行校園保安措施，在進出校園主車路的閘杆前將車輛停下。
