Research Interests
- Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL):
- Design AI-enhanced learning tools to address L2 learner challenges (e.g., reducing anxiety or improving speaking proficiency).
- Collaborate with universities, schools, and tech industries to integrate emerging technologies (e.g., metaverse or AI) into language curricula.
- Prototype and test innovative CALL environments to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE):
Develop teacher training programs to integrate IDLE tools (e.g., apps or social media platforms) into classroom teaching.
Exhance digital resource access for learners in underserved communities, enabling self-directed and informal learning.
Investigate the pedagogical potential of IDLE tools to support personalized, flexible learning pathways.
Social Impact & Scalability:
- Apply original research (e.g., IDLE) to develop programs addressing real-life challenges of L2 learners and teachers in disadvantaged, under-resourced, or under-researched areas.
- Measure actual changes in these communities.
- Develop scalable solutions using open-access toolkits, cross-sector partnerships, and policy advocacy to reach broader populations
