Research Interests

  • Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL):
    • Design optimal learning environments to address L2 learners' challenges (e.g., anxiety and speaking skills).
    • Enhance learning processes and outcomes using emerging technologies (e.g., AI and metaverse) and through university-school-industry collaboration.
  • Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE):

    • Collaborate with educators to design and integrate IDLE programs into curricula and teaching practices.

    • Foster access and opportunities for global English and promote lifelong learning.
  • Social Impact:

    • Apply original research (e.g., IDLE) to develop programs addressing real-life challenges of L2 learners and teachers in disadvantaged, under-resourced, or under-researched areas.
    • Measure actual changes in these communities.
    • Scale up the programs to benefit a wider population and broader communities.
