When is the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2024?
  Meetings: Wednesday-Saturday, June 5-8, 2024
Wesnesday: 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (optional Pre-Conference Workshop)
Thursday: 08:30 a.m. (optional schoiol visit)
Thursday: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. (Day 1 Meeting of ALR2024)
Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Day 2 Meeting of ALR 2024)

4. Do I need a visa to visit Bangkok?
 
  • Tourist Visa Exemption

    Passport holders from 42 countries and special administrative region are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each visit. These 42 countries are:

5. How will we get from the airport to the conference hotel/venue?
  Please refer to the attached Guide.
6. How do I book a hotel room?
  Unless otherwise advised in advance, your room bill for June 5th and June 8th will be covered by the Roundtable. You will be responsible for all other expenses incurred. You will be able to settle the payment with your credit card.

8. Who is attending?
  Participation is by-invitation only, and limited to 60+ scholars, scholar-practitioners, training managers, policymakers, and principals from 21 societies in the region and beyond. Thus far we have received 60+ confirmations from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, Israel, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Turkey, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
9. What are the goals of the Roundtable?
  Our goals for the Roundtable 2024 are:

To examine emerging issues for leading schools in the Asia Pacific region;
To share cutting-edge findings from global research and practice in educational leadership;
To provide regional scholars with opportunities for skill development in teaching and research from world-class scholars; and
To strengthen and expand the existing network of educational leadership scholars in the Asia Pacific region.
10. Do I need to write a paper for the Roundtable?
  We do not require participants to submit formal papers for the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2024, but we highly encourage you to submit formal papers for the conference. Upon your permission, the APCLC and the Faculty of Education, Chulalonglorn University might publish them in e-conference proceeding and / or APCLC Monograph series.

We request that participants submit papers from 1,500 to 5,000 words in length. Topic should revolve around " Changing Contexts for Leading Schools". Please visit the Call for Papers of this site.
11. Will I make a presentation of my paper?
  Participants will not present their papers. The format of the meeting emphasizes interaction, not academic paper presentation.
12. When is my paper due?
 
If you choose to submit a paper, the schedule is as follows.

-The abstract is due on April 29, 2024.
-Draft paper is due on June 5, 2024, if possible.
-The full paper is due on September 30, 2024.
13. Will there be visual audio aids for presentation?
  For the Keynote Speeches, computer generated projectors will be provided.

During the working session(s) of Roundtable (June 6-7, 2024), poster papers and markers will be provided. If you want us to print any handouts or poster for you, please send to us (apclc@eduhk.hk) no later than May 31, 2024.

  • The Roundtable is intended to be a relaxed, professional meeting. Dress code for all ALR activities is polite casual. Neither ties nor sports jackets are necessary.
