To use extra ESF funding to improve teacher’s pedagogical knowledge and skills.
A decision is needed of the best way to go.
Main arguments:
Give each teacher a certain amount for own use.
Allocate money to subject departments to determine priorities.
Organise a whole school event to cover generic improvement strategies.
Decision:
Take a whole school approach to improving approaches to teaching.
Action:
Set up committee to plan 2‐day workshop. Contact committee nominees and
get initial plan by 23rd December.
Summary:
Too make meetings in the school or department successful:
Inform others of what took place.
Highlight the decisions taken.
Monitor agreed actions.
Tell your employees clearly what the purpose is.
Make sure everyone had done his or her homework.
Prepare an agenda with items in the right order.
Prescribe a certain amount of time for each item, and stick to it.
Only let people talk if they have something useful and relevant to say.
Do not invite everyone just because they have always attended.
Make sure you achieve the purpose of the meeting.
Make action plans and name people who are to do things.
