Jianggan District, Hangzhou, is located in the east of the city. It is named after its
geographical location at brink of Qiantang River, and is traditionally famous for
its beautiful scenery and affluence. The size of Jianggan District is 105 square
kilometers with around 1.1 million resident populations. There are in total 119
schools at all levels, including 28 primary schools, 9 junior secondary schools, 6
Year 1- 9 schools, 1 special education school, 1 Year 1- 12 school, 1 senior
secondary school, 1 vocational senior secondary school, and 71 kindergartens.
There are 57,038 primary and junior secondary school (compulsory education)
students, 1,986 senior secondary school students, 32,597 kindergarten children,
and around 8,000 teachers and staff in the district.
In recent years Jianggan has taken fostering integrity and promoting rounded
development of students as the fundamental task of education and promoted
the New Education Community governance model (xin gongtongti). The
Education Bureau maintains The Three Comprehensive Quality View (sanquan
zhiliangguan), which takes all students into consideration, facilitates student
