WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to Asia Leadership Roundtable 2018.

The Asia Leadership Roundtable 2018 brings together our regional and
global partners to discuss research and development trends on the

theme of "The West Wind vs. The East Wind: Understanding Leadership
for Teacher Learning".

This year’s theme encourages regional and international education

scholars and practitioners to come together to reflect upon
understanding leadership as it is conceptualized and practices in
different cultures. As such it has two sub-themes. The first considers the

principal’s role in teacher learning. This is important given what we know
about the impact of teacher learning on student outcomes both in Asia

and the west. The second sub-theme continues discussion of issues
around the complex job of conducting research across different cultures.

Although we plan to have several short presentations, the Roundtable
2018 emphasizes interaction and, is organized in discussion format.

Participation is by-invitation-only, and limited to 60+ regional and
international education scholars, practitioners, training managers,

policymakers, and principals in the region and beyond. Thus far we have
