Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture - Music / Visual Arts
This is the first undergraduate programme in Hong Kong to offer arts management and cultural studies components to complement discipline-based training in the creative arts. It aims to develop community-based artists who are able to work across a range of established art forms and contribute to the promotion and development of the arts and arts education in the local, regional, and international cultural and creative industries.
Students will focus on one "core" arts discipline of either Music or Visual Arts and will be exposed to various aspects of Creative Arts, Cultural Studies and Arts Management. Students' learning experience will be further enhanced by completing an Internship, the Regional Summer Institute, the Final Year Project and other academic activities.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Studies and Digital Communication
The BA(ESDC) programme aims to cultivate a new generation of English studies students with strong digital literacy skills through a digitally enriched curriculum. The programme provides a wide range of courses to build a solid foundation in English language, linguistics and digital literacy, consolidated by hands-on experience in using digital tools for language applications. Students will be empowered to develop digital contents for the learning and teaching of languages, to publish in digital media and to support and critically evaluate digital communication solutions. A combination of humanities and digital communication technology will allow students to further contribute to the transformation of education, media, and publishing in the digital age.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Heritage Education and Arts Management
The BA(HE&AM) programme furnishes students with the knowledge, mindset and skills required to meet career demands in the fields of arts, cultural, heritage and museum education. It complements global and local trends of enhancing citizens’ all-round development in formal and non-formal arts and cultural education. Building on the strong partnerships between The Education University of Hong Kong and heritage and arts institutes nationally, regionally and internationally, the programme is interdisciplinary, and focuses on enhancing the work-related competencies of practitioners. The programme contributes to the education process and competitiveness of Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and the region by encouraging the development of citizens who are culturally competent and values-inspired.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Language Studies - Chinese / English
The programme aims to provide diversified learning experiences for students to develop their career pathways by deepening and broadening their studies in Chinese/English language contexts. Upon completion of this programme, students should be able to master the language of their major with analytical ability/digital competency to learn from varied social and global contexts. Through the carefully organised courses and an organic curriculum, students majoring in Chinese/English will acquire a solid foundation in their major to embrace future challenges in the digital world.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Special Education
The Programme aims to nurture committed and skilled practitioners for the well-being of individuals with special needs, particularly in areas related to education and community empowerment. Students will learn about the types and characteristics of special needs, assessment and intervention approaches, the broader environmental, language and social contexts, as well as issues related to social inclusion, empowerment, and quality of life of individuals with special needs. The Programme will provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience in real work environments. Graduates will work with families, schools, and communities to effectively facilitate inclusion and enhance the quality of life for individuals with special education needs.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology
The programme aims to (a) provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence and educational technology; (b) develop students’ ability in applying knowledge of artificial intelligence and educational technology appropriate to teaching and learning; (c) build up students’ skills in using appropriate methods of artificial intelligence and educational technology to approach and solve real-world problems in educational contexts; and (d) equip students with the capacity to conduct and evaluate educational projects supported by ethical use of artificial intelligence and educational technology.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Integrated Environmental Management
Environmental management is of growing importance in the daily operation of private and public sectors. Throughout the past few decades, new environmental tools have emerged to enable policymakers and decision-makers to deal with environmental challenges presented in their planning and operation, including environmental accounting, environmental risk assessment and environmental management system certification. At the same time, the establishment of environmental regulation in different jurisdictions makes it necessary for different sectors to comply with different legal and regulatory requirements. This multidisciplinary programme is catered for students who have a strong interest and dedication in environmental management and sustainability.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching

Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Psychology
BSocSc(Psy) aims to provide a curriculum conforming to standards comparable to local and overseas universities, but also three interrelated concentrations that develop students’ intellectual capacity and ability to apply psychological knowledge and skills in the workplace— (1) School Psychology, (2) Health Psychology, and (3) Human Relations and Communication.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood and Family Studies
Hong Kong witnesses an increasing need for parent education and related studies. The BA(ECFS) programme addresses this need by training students who are able to empower parents to promote the development of young children using science-informed methods.
Students will learn how to develop and evaluate family-oriented programmes. Students will also learn how to collect data to address research questions about early childhood and family studies. Graduates are expected to be competent practitioners who are able to support families and schools in their efforts to take care of young children, run systematic family-oriented programmes in school and community settings, and deal with a wide range of family-related issues.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language
The BA(TCSL) programme aims to nurture professionals in teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Students enrolled in this programme will be equipped with: (i) interdisciplinary knowledge including Chinese language and pedagogy, as well as educational psychology; and (ii) the ability to analyse issues related to Chinese teaching in the context of multilingualism and globalisation.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management
The BSc (EM) gives your career in education-focused administration a head-start, equipping you with career opportunities in schools, NGOs, and education-related organizations where care, ethics, and social responsibility are core to their business agenda. Our programme has a strong team of university-wide, inter-faculty, and inter-disciplinary instructors with academic and practitioner experiences in education and executive management. Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Social Entrepreneurship and Development Studies
In recent years, the ecosystem of social business has speedily evolved, and some social entrepreneurs and successful social innovation projects have emerged. In a rapidly changing world, social entrepreneurs develop strategies by drawing on and merging inventive thought from both non-profit and business sectors, start businesses with the dual purpose of profit and social value, and address social problems, such as poverty and unemployment, unfair trade, etc., with innovation. This Programme with a focus on the developmental needs in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and emerging economies in Asia, provides students with a holistic experience of social entrepreneurship, enhances students with academic and professional foundations, and helps students develop networks through internship and field visits with organisations in Hong Kong and other cities in the GBA, enables students’ understanding of the complex dynamics of social transitions in GBA and Asia, in order to equip students for their future careers.
Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sociology and Community Studies
The programme aims to provide students with a solid training in social sciences inquiry so that they can understand the nature and complexity of social and cultural challenges faced by individuals in communities of different scales and at different levels. Students will be introduced to issues concerning class, ethnicity, gender, social inequality, and cultural diversities. They will also participate in discussions related to social transformations and the changing social structures and institutions in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the contemporary world. Students will be expected to understand and explain social issues with the use of appropriate quantitative and qualitative data. The programme also enhances students’ conceptual and problem-solving skills with a view to promoting personal growth and community practices. Upon the completion of the programme, students will be able to apply social scientific knowledge and skills to understand and explore possible responses to a wide range of community issues at global, national, regional and local and individual levels.

The Double Degree Programme aims to prepare professional Music teachers and community-based artists who possess subject knowledge and demonstrate competency in both education and various forms of creative arts. Graduates will become competent music teachers in Hong Kong and possess the ability to work in a broad range of positions such as curators for art museums, galleries and music centres; administrators of arts-and-cultural related organisations; researchers in cultural studies and musicians; and arts educators.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Visual Arts)
The Double Degree Programme aims to prepare professional Visual Arts teachers and community-based artists who possess subject knowledge and demonstrate competency in both education and various forms of creative arts. Graduates will become competent art teachers in Hong Kong and possess the ability to work in a broad range of positions such as curators for art museums and galleries; administrators of arts-and-cultural related organisations; researchers in cultural studies; professional artists and designers; and arts educators.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Language Studies and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (English Language)
This programme aims to prepare graduates to become competent teachers of English for primary/secondary schools, or other English language related professionals. Graduates will obtain a high level of English proficiency and an ability to help pupils learn English effectively. Students will learn the English language system in depth, the principles and theories of teaching and learning with special reference to the teaching and learning of English as a second/foreign language. Students in the programme will conduct teaching practices in primary and secondary schools, and join an immersion programme in an English-speaking country.

Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Business, Accounting & Financial Studies)
The programme aims at equipping pre-service teachers who will be able to teach Business, Accounting and Financial Studies [BAFS] and Business Fundamentals [BF] curricular in senior and junior secondary schools.
Students will be provided with both formal and informal learning opportunities such as guest lectures, company visits, exhibitions, competitions, seminars and talks on a regular basis to facilitate keeping abreast with the most current trends and issues in the field.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese History) No admission in 2024/25
This programme aims to cultivate students with professional ethics, creativity, lively teaching abilities and a global perspective for teaching the subject of Chinese History in secondary schools.
Graduates of the programme are expected to: (1) possess the relevant pedagogical and curriculum development skills as well as discipline knowledge with an emphasis on the understanding of the contemporary significance of the Chinese historical issues; (2) possess critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems in a logical and creative way; (3) communicate and interact effectively with others in social and professional contexts; and (4) demonstrate global awareness with high standard of morality.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese Language)
There is a huge demand for professionally trained Chinese Language teachers in Hong Kong. The BEd(CL) programme is designed to provide students with the disciplinary and professional competency to teach the subject of Chinese Language. Graduates of the programme are eligible to apply to become fully qualified and registered teachers of Chinese Language in primary or secondary sector.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Early Childhood Education)
This programme aims to nurture outstanding early childhood educators who: (1) are caring, competent and creative professionals; (2) demonstrate the disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary knowledge, understanding and disposition required to design, implement and assess quality programmes for children from 0 to 8 years of age; (3) can work collaboratively with children, parents, colleagues, school administrators and other professionals to address the needs of children and contribute to sustainable development of society; (4) are committed to lifelong learning; and (5) have a passion for excellence and are committed to the creative improvement of early childhood care and education in Hong Kong.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (English Language) - Primary
This programme aims to equip students with (1) high proficiency in English necessary for fulfilling the language exit requirement as stipulated by the University; (2) in-depth knowledge of the English language; (3) abilities to help students in primary schools in Hong Kong to learn English as a second language effectively; (4) lifelong learning skills and are able to appreciate moral, social and cultural values; (5) the aptitude to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, school administrators and other professionals; and (6) understanding of education issues of Hong Kong and will react to educational innovations positively.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Geography)
The programme aims at equipping students with essential skills and knowledge so that they will be capable of teaching geography curricula in senior and junior forms at secondary school. Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to: (1) demonstrate a solid understanding and command of geographical concepts and theories and apply the knowledge to solve geographical problems; and (2) display competencies in teaching geography-related courses and curriculum in secondary schools.
The programme diversifies learning opportunities through guest lectures, field trips, and seminars on a regular basis to enhance students' understanding of contemporary geographical issues.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (History)
This programme aims to cultivate students with professional ethics and a global perspective for teaching the subject of history in secondary schools. To achieve this aim, graduates of the programme are expected to possess the relevant pedagogical and curriculum development skills as well as disciplinary knowledge with an emphasis on historical issues of modern times. Graduates will also possess critical thinking skills to solve problems in a logical and creative way; be able to communicate and interact effectively with others in social and professional contexts; and demonstrate global awareness with high standard of morality.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education)
This programme is designed to provide students with the disciplinary and professional competency to teach physical education in both primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. Our curriculum emphasizes theory and practice integration, and builds a strong foundation in sports, humanities, science, curriculum and pedagogy. Various teaching and learning approaches are employed to provide students with rich personal, academic and professional enhancement opportunities. Graduates of our programme should be "physically educated" with character and moral responsibility; competence and professional excellence; wisdom and intellectual engagement; and civic-mindedness and social responsibility.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Primary) - General Studies / Mathematics
BEd(Primary) – General Studies promotes your generic skills for life-wide and life-long learning, fosters positive personal and social values and attitudes, and develops your skills through investigation, project learning and service learning. Taught as an interdisciplinary subject, this programme aims to develop generic skills (e.g. problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, study skills, communication, Information Technology, etc.) that are essential for learning in the information era and for making sense of social and environmental issues. You will be acquainted with the spirit and framework of inquiry and will be equipped with the social and scientific inquiry skills that come into play in the teaching and learning of General Studies.
BEd(Primary) – Mathematics: You are on your way to becoming a confident and competent Mathematics teacher who can spark the learning interest of students and make Mathematics lively and relevant to their lives. While developing your own mathematical knowledge, you learn how to help others achieve understanding of and develop a passion for this fascinating discipline. Mathematics is one of the three core subjects in Hong Kong schools, and the demand for teachers of this subject is constantly high. The University is the main provider of local primary teachers. This programme prepares well-qualified graduates to meet the demand for Mathematics teachers in Hong Kong.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Science)
The programme aims to prepare qualified, competent, professional secondary science teachers capable of satisfying the educational needs of learners with different abilities within a community that values multiple aspects of intelligence. Graduates will have attained academic excellence and professional competence for effective teaching of science in schools. In particular, they will possess a solid command of science subject knowledge and skills together with a firm and thorough grasp of the interrelationship between theory and practice. They will persistently affirm the importance of scientific literacy in our society and will be creative, responsible, and caring individuals who have a solid understanding of science, technology, society, and environment, as well as commitment to ethical values.

Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Secondary) - Information and Communication Technology
This programme aims at providing students with a wide range of knowledge, concepts and applications of information and communication technology (ICT) to develop problem-solving skills in real-world settings. It also provides students with opportunities to appreciate the impact of ICT on the individual and society in the digital age, and equips students with innovative pedagogical knowledge, up-to-date subject knowledge, values, skills and practice essential to teach ICT in school education.
On completion of the programme, students are expected to be able to: (1) demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts in major areas of ICT that supports the applications of information processing, programming, database and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for problem-solving; (2) demonstrate an understanding of methods for analysing computational problems, and planning and implementing solutions with ICT to real-world problems; (3) realise the social, ethical and legal issues pertaining to the use of ICT and appreciate how digital literacy and the sharing of knowledge using ICT influence decision-making and shape our society; and (4) learn to implement innovative pedagogical practices leveraged by digital technologies for effective teaching of ICT.

This programme aims to provide practitioners or intending practitioners in Professional and Vocational Education (PVE) settings with the skills, understandings and aptitudes to work effectively, efficiently and confidently as professional teachers, instructors, trainers, educational designers and change agents, including Applied Learning context. The programme provides students with the opportunity to build upon their existing disciplinary knowledge, integrating it with the educational learning that is the core of the programme.
Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Special Needs)
Normal Period of Study: 3 Years
This Programme is the first add-on specialist degree in Hong Kong on special needs and inclusive education. The Programme, in line with the government's policy on integration, aims to provide specialist training for serving teachers or professionals to work effectively with learners with special needs in mainstream schools or special education settings. It also aims to significantly enhance the competencies of teachers so that they are able to collaborate and develop effective teams within the realm of the whole school approach whether they are based in special education settings or resource centres.

Bachelor of Health Education (Honours)
Bachelor of Health Education (Hons) Programme [BHE], a unique top-up degree in the market, aims to nurture participants of Higher Diploma / Associate Degree in health-related studies, registered teachers, nurses, and social workers to be effective health educators. It is also the major provider for elite athlete education with flexible study plan. The programme prepares participants as train-the-trainer and with knowledge skills to design and conduct health education interventions to clients in various settings and to evaluate contemporary health issues in the community.
