A group of 20 geography education students and professors from the University of Education in Salzburg Austria visited the Department of Social Sciences on 25 February 2019. We shared with them about the local geography curriculum and the VR / AR geographical learning technologies.
2019 February The Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) is pleased to announce its membership to the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) (http://www.ippapublicpolicy.org/partners). Founded in 2014, IPPA (http://www.ippapublicpolicy.org/ ) has quickly grown into one of the largest international public policy associations in the world, bringing together practitioners, scholars and students of public policy from across the globe. To celebrate our joining IPPA, APS will host a reception for 1,500 delegates in June 2019, at IPPA's General Assembly in Montreal, Canada. Faculty from APS will attend the international two day conference and welcome international participants to the reception. By joint IPPA as an institutional member, APS hopes to enhance international research collaboration, academic mobility and to host future IPPA events in Hong Kong. The APS department is proud and excited to announce that it has achieved a major milestone by becoming a member of Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) since January 2019. (Membership 2019 to 2024). NASPAA (http://www.naspaa.org ) is an international membership organization of graduate education programs in public policy, public affairs, public administration, and public & nonprofit management. Its members award MPA, MPP, MPAff, and similar degrees. It has over 300+ member schools all over the world, including top-notch institutions, Harvard University, University of Chicago, Princeton University, University of California, Berkeley, Tsinghua University, etc. Our students would have access to NASPAA resources and opportunities in many areas including networking and professional learning. Becoming NASPAA members not only represents a new chapter of APS’ development but also a rise of global visibility and recognition.
