BA(LSE) students’ field visit to Kazakhstan in June 2019
This year, the BA(LSE)'s field visit took place in Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), capital city of Kazakhstan, between 18 and 25 June. Our wonderful host, Nazarbayev University, gave us a very fruitful programme. We mingled with its international faculty and local students, toured various cultural and historical sites, visited the United Nations Office and headquarters of a political party, as well as enjoyed music at a grand opera house and strolled through the city's gigantic malls! An EdU-themed cake and a surprise visit by the University's president brought a perfect ending to this memorable study trip.
The Nazarbayev University treated us as honourable guests! They gave us a really big EdU cake on the second last day which we couldn't finish - it is just too big!! Dr. Gordon Chan and Nick, one of our Year 2 students happened to be the June birthday boys and cut the cake.
