Congratulations to Mr. CHENG Chi Hin (Wilson) (Year 4, BA(LSE)) who received the Outstanding Youth Award of Tai Po 2018-19 (Open Category)!
I am delighted to be awarded the Outstanding Youth of Tai Po (Open Category) and on the Dean of Students’ List. These honours encourage me to continue to chase my goals, to lead others, and to contribute to the community.
One of my goals in the past four years was to be an excellent servant leader, who, besides leading and encouraging others to develop their potentials, would serve people with a sense of humility. Hence, I have taken the initiative to develop and enhance my leadership skills through, for example, serving as President of the 6th Association of General and Liberal Studies, Hall Tutor of the Jockey Club Student Quarters, Mentor of LEAD Programme17-18, as well as a leader of SEGA Programme 18-19. My other goal was to share love and care with the community. To increase children’s motivation to learn, I have organized the University Life Experiencing Day-camp for children with support from the Student Activity Fund. I was also a member of the working group of Tai Po and North District Elderly Coordinating Committee of the Social Welfare Department to promote the culture of respecting and caring for the elderly. In terms of overseas voluntary service, I have been a leader of a working team that organized voluntary activities in developing countries such as Cambodia and Nepal. Our service included building houses and serving as teachers in schools.
