SSPS PhD student shines in eminent international journal
Mr Sai Htong Kham, a Final Year Research Postgraduate Student who is currently under the supervision of Dr Isabella Ng Fung-sheung, recently published a paper in the International Journal of Qualitative Methods, one of the leading journals in the field of social sciences. Entitled “Outsider From Within, Insider From Without: Negotiating Researcher Positionality in Comparative Social Research”, the author shared his experiences as an “in-out-sider” while conducting the fieldwork in Thailand, discussing the issue of conceptualising and practising positionality.
With a five-year impact factor of 8.9, the International Journal of Qualitative Methods currently ranks 5 out of 110 in social sciences – interdisciplinary of the renowned Social Science Citations Index (SSCI).
