Prof. Chou Kee-lee: Discussion on Traditional Well-known School Transit to Direct Subsidized School

Because of St. Stephen’s Girls’ College is planning to transit to direct subsidized secondary school, it evokes some related discussions and concerns, especially for the poor, among the society. ‘The related parties neglect the side effects of this change. Although the Hong Kong Government provides different scholarships for the needy students, the result is not very effective,’ said Professor Chou. ‘The related authority should adjust the scholarships to cover the whole course but not be granted annually because of the academic performance.
