Social Sciences Week 2018

As a key knowledge exchange activity of the Department of Social Sciences (SSC), Social Sciences Week 2018 was held successfully from 26 June to 3 July 2018. Our series of themed mini-lectures, field visits and innovative workshops were well attended by secondary school students and teachers, university students and academic staff, and representatives of local NGOs.
SSC’s academic staff shared with participants lectures and discussions in their areas of research and teaching expertise, including Liberal Studies (Prof. Stephen Chiu), Sustainability (Prof. C.Y. Jim), Business Studies (Dr. Vincent Chong & Dr. Eric Law), Chinese History (Dr. Steven Hung), World History (Dr. Ho Wai-yip), Law (Dr. Karen Lee), Gender (Dr. Clara To), and Self-identity (Dr. Lawrence Ho).
Social Sciences Week emphasizes the importance of exchanging knowledge with the public, and opinions and ideas from the audience were essential in contributing to this process.
Dr. HO Wai-yip brought the audience to the Islamic world.
