EdUHK Signs MoU with The Shenzhen Kingfan Hong Kong Children School to Foster Educational Integration and Exchange with Mainland China
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Shenzhen Kingfan Hong Kong Children School (Kingfan) on 7 November 2024 on EdUHK’s Tai Po campus. The purpose of this MoU is to promote educational integration and exchange between Hong Kong and Mainland China, and to foster collaboration in various areas such as teacher training and tertiary education for students from Mainland China.
EdUHK was represented by Professor May Cheng May-hung, Vice President (Academic), while Mr Yau Chi-leung, Principal, represented Kingfan in signing the MoU. With this new partnership, both parties will encourage collaboration on multiple initiatives, including the ‘Mainland School Principal’s Nomination Scheme’, and field experience arrangements for EdUHK students, as well as teacher development activities.
Professor Cheng highlighted EdUHK's strong commitment to collaborating with schools in the mainland. She said that the MoU laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between EdUHK and Kingfan, enhancing professional interaction among teachers and deepening educational collaboration between the two regions. It will also provide students with more opportunities for exchange and practical experience, helping them develop broader perspectives and practical skills. Professor Cheng hoped that both sides would learn from each other during the collaborative process, leveraging their strengths to promote mutual development and drive educational innovation, thereby opening up more possibilities for student development.
Kingfan Principal Mr Yau Chi-leung also expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with EdUHK in his speech. He believes that this partnership can strengthen the sharing and development of educational resources between Hong Kong and Mainland China, fostering professional interaction between the two.
The signing ceremony was also attended by EdUHK School Partnership and Field Experience Office Director Dr Kevin Kam Wai-keung, Associate Director Ms Mandy Au Yuen-yee, and Professional consultant Mr Langton Cheung Yung-pong; Kingfan Deputy Supervisor Mr Leon Li, Vice President Ms Wat Pui-yi, as well as Ms Anita Huang, Ms Candice Huang, Mr Delly Xu, Mr Kieron Sheung and Ms Faye Dong.
