EdUHK Signs MoU with Nanshan Chinese International College Concordia HKDSE Division Facilitating the integration, interaction, and development of education between Hong Kong and Mainland China
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nanshan Chinese International College Concordia HKDSE Division on 14 November 2024, on EdUHK’s Tai Po campus. Its aim is to promote educational integration and interaction between Hong Kong and Mainland China, as well as for diversified development in the future.
EdUHK was represented by Vice President (Academic) Professor May Cheng May-hung, while Principal Dr Darnay Chan represented the Nanshan Chinese International College Concordia HKDSE Division in signing the MoU. With this new partnership, both parties will collaborate on multiple initiatives, including the ‘Mainland School Principal’s Nomination Scheme’, and field experience arrangements for EdUHK students, as well as teacher development activities.
Professor Cheng highlighted EdUHK's strong commitment to partnering with schools in the mainland. She explained that this MoU would lay a solid foundation for both parties’ future development and bring new opportunities for educational advancement between Hong Kong and mainland China. It will provide students with the chance to learn and grow in different cultural environments, and allow them to better understand and integrate into the educational systems of the two places. These exchange opportunities will further broaden students’ horizons, and enhance their competitiveness. Looking ahead, both parties will also explore new teaching methods together, drawing inspiration from each other in curriculum design, sharing resources and complementing each other’s methods, in order to provide students with a richer learning experience.
Dr Darnay Chan, Principal of the Nanshan Chinese International College Concordia HKDSE Division, also looked forward to the collaboration between both parties, hoping to enhance curriculum design, teacher training, and students' overall quality and practical skills.
The signing ceremony was also attended by EdUHK Director of School Partnership and Field Experience (SPFE) Director Dr Kevin Kam Wai-keung; Associate Director of SPFE Ms Mandy Au Yuen-yee; Ms Rainbow Huang, Administration Director; Mr William Tsang, High School Director; Mr Raymond Liu, High School Deputy Director; Ms Helen Zhu, Administration Assistant of Nanshan Chinese International College Concordia HKDSE Division and other guests.
