Elder Academy: It's Never Too Late to Learn
The time-honoured image of retirement being inactive doesn’t have to be reality. Today, retirement can be productive and ‘intellectually active’. This is reflected in the work of the Elder Academy at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), which offers a learning pathway for retirees and opportunities to train instructors to teach elders; proving there’s no age limit to education.
The persistent COVID-19 epidemic has resulted in all classes being suspended in Hong Kong, followed by the need for students to learn at home. According to the latest survey conducted by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), however, nearly 70% of kindergarten parents and over 80% of primary school parents find that their children have trouble learning at home, and they are worried about their children falling behind.
