Dr Teresa Ng, Assistant Professor of Teaching at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, was invited to make a guest appearance in an episode of ViuTV’s recent programme University Keywords. University Keywords explores the lifestyle, daily activities, and academic achievements of all eight universities in Hong Kong, dealing with and debunking myths and preconceived impressions of each. The programme’s opening episode was on EdUHK. Joined by Kenji and Cheryl, ViuTV host and EdUHK graduate guest host respectively, Dr Ng was interviewed on her thoughts on the culture of the University. Through a light-hearted personality picture game, Dr Ng revealed character traits pertinent to becoming a teacher as many EdUHK students are preparing to join the frontlines of education. She also summed up the unique qualities of EdUHK students in the acronym VIU: Virtue, Innovation, and Unstoppable passion. Dr Ng described our students as loving and professional, open-minded, creative, and perseverant, all of which are vital for navigating the 21st century as educators and as people.
