Congratulations to Profs John Lee, Yan Zi, Kerry Kennedy, Lim Cher-Ping, and Looi Chee Kit on Being Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists in the World

2023-10-25

Stanford University has just released their ranking of the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists for 2023. Created by Prof John Ioannidis based on standardised citation indicators, this annual list details career-long and single recent year citation impact of scholars around the world. Covering 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, it celebrates and acknowledges the global influence of academics in different research areas.

Among these named top scientists are four of our C&I colleagues who are recognised for their citation impact in Education: our President Prof Lee Chi-Kin, our Head of Department Prof Yan Zi, our emeritus professor and advisor Prof Kerry John Kennedy, Associate Dean of Faculty Prof Lim Cher-Ping, and Research Chair Professor Prof Looi Chee Kit. In particular, Prof Yan was identified as one of the top 2% single recent year authors, Prof Kennedy, Prof Lim, and Prof Looi were considered top career-long authors, and Prof Lee was listed under both categories.

What fantastic news for the University and the Department! To echo the words of President Prof Lee, ‘The University has made great strides in research in education and various emerging disciplines, as illustrated by its remarkable achievements over the years’; this exceptional accomplishment of our academic staff is a true testament to the dedicated effort they have put into furthering educational research.

Congratulations once again to our very own top scientists!
