Construction Industry Council commissioned Certificate in Learning and Teaching Programme started a new “face-to-face” mode of teaching in August 2022. Thirty-two teaching staff of Hong Kong Institute of Constructure participated in this programme, which aimed to strengthen their professional competencies required for effective technical and vocational education and training. In response to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and to maintain quality teaching and learning, a new set of materials, which consisted of guided readings, teaching videos, multiple choice questions, discussion tasks and self-reflection journals, were developed in Google Classroom. The developed materials were trialed in a hybrid, synchronous mode of teaching, to engage participants in deep understanding, reflection, and self-regulation. Those materials denoted C&I teaching team’s effort in previous years in knowledge transfer, despite different challenges encountered, for promoting professional development of manpower in Hong Kong construction industry.
