P. 27
The Expectation
In this booklet we have suggested that this platform comprise a Personal
Educational Leadership Platform and the application of Keep, Change, Try to
some of the key ideals, issues, and structures in your school.
You should try to have a first draft of your platform before the Live-in-Learning.
This probably won’t be your final platform, but should be a good start.
You should discuss your platform within your Alliances with your Director.
This is essential if it is to meaningful — any platform which has not
been opened to question and justification risks being a weak platform.
Of course you can discuss the platform with anyone else you want to.
We would like you to share (and submit) your leadership platform with the Links
cohort and beyond. Of course you have the right not to share it with others
if you wish, but we’d still like you to send it to us to look at. If you do agree to
share we will make it available to others in the group. You can read almost all
leadership platforms from previous leaders at:
www.ied.edu.hk/apclc/links/leadership_platform.html
Links has definite outcomes and high expectations but
it is not into ‘checking and chasing‘. Our assumption
is that as professionals you are committed to what you
are doing and are demanding of us and of yourselves.
We’re always there if you want advice, a chat or further
guidance, but your main learning, quality assurance and
feedback mechanism is your Alliance.
