4 Develop a Plan on a Page – What are you trying to improve about
your school? What lines of inquiry will you pursue? What do you
want to consider as possible solutions to problems or ways to enhance
some aspect of your schools work or outcomes? What background
information is needed? How will you pursue these lines of inquiry?
What actions are needed? Who will do what? When? What resources
are required? What changes will you attempt to bring about? What
outcomes would you find satisfactory? What results are you looking
for? What evidence do you need to collect in order to answer your
inquiry questions so you know if it is working or not?
5 Carry Out the Plan – Follow your plan, but be flexible and willing to
change your agenda as new evidence arises that indicate better ways
to proceed.
6 Reflect and Report – What has been the impact of the project? Have
you managed to improve some aspect of your school? Has there been
any impact on student outcomes? What impact has there been on staff
or parents? Has there been any impact on school policy or procedure?
Has it been worthwhile? What could have done better? What would
you do differently? Were there any unanticipated and unintended
outcomes that nonetheless enhanced some aspect of your school?
What has been learnt from this project? What have you learnt about
your own personal leadership potential and capability? What has been
the shared learning of the team/Alliance? What has the school learnt
from your project?
