Ming Dih Lin is a professor at the Graduate Institute of Education, College of
Education, National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan, R. O. C. Previously he was
the Director of the Graduate Institute of Education and the Dean of the College of
Education. Before that, he was an administrator in the Bureau of Education, Taipei
Municipality. He served as an elementary school teacher for three years. Based on
his experience as a teacher and an administrator, his research focuses mainly on
the leadership of schools, as well as school-community relationships. Professor Lin
graduated with his Doctorate in Educational Administration from University of
Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. He has undertaken a number of research projects on
parent involvement, leadership development, learning organization, school
improvement and the cognitive perspectives on school leadership with the
support of National Science Council in Taiwan. Professor Lin has published and
co-published seven academic books and over 100 book chapters and journal
articles. Some of the articles are written in English, such as “Professional
Development for Principals in Taiwan: The Status Quo and Future Needs.” In:
