Chinese Research on School Leadership in the Global Context

                      Liu Shengnan

Using a science mapping methodology, our review identified papers (n=1,227)
published in “core” journals (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index, CSSCI) in mainland
China between 1985 and 2018. The records extracted were analyzed for bibliometric
characteristics such as the growth in publications, citation analysis, emerging topics,
and natural clusters of the main keywords used. VOSviewer v.1.1.10 was used to
construct scientific maps. This is the first study reporting the development trends in
the educational leadership in mainland China. Our findings contribute to a better
understanding of the main research topics about educational leadership in China and
sheds new light on the further development of educational leadership research.
