The Foundation upholds its mission to “promoting moral education and Chinese culture, and cooperating with the world to improve and dedicate to the quality of basic education in China”. About the competition"STEAM Education: 3D Chinese Cultural Architectural Design Competition” (The Competition) is organised by the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology of the Education University of Hong Kong. The Competition seizes opportunities of the advancement of STEAM education and 3D-printing technology. Contestants are required to apply knowledge on Chinese culture, creativity and aesthetics to delicately design and 3D-print architecture or architectural compound model with Chinese cultural significance. The Competition is divided into two phases, which are
In the first phase, contestants of each team should demonstrate the history of Chinese architecture in the past century, and create an architecture or architectural compound model with Chinese cultural significance by using 3D-printing technology. Contestants may refer to traditional Chinese construction techniques, or the historical and modern architecture of more than 60 countries of the “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)”, in order to showcase the influence and contribution of Chinese culture around the world. After the Competition, all outstanding entries will be on public exhibition around the campus of the Education University of Hong Kong and at other appropriate venues. |
