| Abstract | International academic mobility is a cornerstone of the global knowledge system, fostering the exchange of ideas, skills, and cultural perspectives. This seminar sharing session is exposing the issues and effectiveness of “inward mobility” and “outward mobility” as two modes of international academic mobility in advancing global education, research and innovation. How the international collaboration activities in promoting teaching scholarship in the context of Geography Education, with a focus on outward mobility in creating a sense of wonderment and diversity through transnational encounters, will be discussed. |
| Speaker | Dr. CHEUNG Kin Wai Norman (Senior Lecturer II, Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies) Dr. Norman Cheung is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). Dr. Norman Cheung is currently at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He has previously taught at the University of Oxford, Kingston University London, Cranfield University, and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). In addition to his teaching experience, Dr. Cheung was frequently sought after for expert commentary on extreme weather and disaster management by various media outlets in the UK. He also held the position of Senior Catastrophe Analyst at SCOR Reinsurance (Asia) Company Limited in Hong Kong, where he conducted analysis and research on natural hazards, particularly focusing on tropical cyclones and earthquakes, along with catastrophe modelling for the Asian reinsurance market. |
