公共政策對話系列|香港STEM教育與創科樞紐?

The ‘Policy Dialogue Series’ has entered its fifth annual series. This year, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, Professor Lui Tai-lok and other speakers will continue to explore critical issues and public policy challenges facing Hong Kong.
In the coming sessioins, entitled ‘Education and Science: Does STEM education matter in Hong Kong's move into an innovation & technology hub?’, the speakers will share their insights into the topic.
Hong Kong is a latecomer in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, which began to be promoted since late 2015. In his inaugural Policy Address in October 2023, CE John Lee emphasizes the promotion of STEAM (with the addition of the Arts) education "for all", "for fun" and "for diversity" in primary and secondary schools, to build a solid foundation for students in support of Innovation & Technology development in the city. What matters in STEAM education and how essential is it for Hong Kong to become a regional I&T hub?
The dialogue series is co-organised by the Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) and the Academy of Hong Kong Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), and the Division of Public Policy (PPOL) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
