We are pleased to announce that Dr. Emma Buchtel was awarded the Inaugural Outstanding Service Award from the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology, during the opening ceremony of the IACCP's 2024 International Congress on August 5th, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia. The award committee wrote "The IACCP recognizes Dr. Emma Buchtel's significant contribution to our Association and the field of cross-cultural psychology in her role as chair of the 2022 International Congress organizing committee. Our Golden Jubilee Congress, celebrating 50 years since IACCP was established in 1972, presented many challenges, including overcoming members' reluctance to attend another virtual conference, improving the content and delivery of the scientific program and bolstering the social components of our meeting. Emma stepped forward when no one else was willing. Her unwavering commitment and boundless enthusiasm inspired us all. Through her indefatigable attention to every detail of the 2022 Congress and her introduction of new, successful events and activities, the Congress was a resounding success."
