Dr Yeung Siu Sze Susanna, Associate Dean (Quality Assurance and Enhancement) of FEHD and Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, received HK$1,967,995 grant from the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR). This is the second research grant awarded to Dr Yeung under the "Research and Development Projects" Scheme of SCOLAR. The project entitled "Development and evaluation of a computerised morphology training package on English literacy in Hong Kong primary school students with reading comprehension difficulties" will comprise three phases: (1) design and the development of a computerised training package named as Computerised English Morphology Training Package (CEMTP), (2) scientific evaluation and refinement of the CEMTP, and (3) dissemination of the findings and promotion of the use of the CEMTP in local primary schools and families with children who are having English reading comprehension difficulties. During the 2-year project period, Dr Yeung will work with her team, including Prof Him Cheung and Dr Dan Lin from our Department, Dr Kean Poon from the Department of Special Education and Counselling, and Prof Ching Sing Chai from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
